Research Technician T-cell Immunology

Your function within the department

The technician will join the team of the Kvistborg lab which is part of the division of Molecular Oncology & Immunology. Our research is focused on T cell immunology in cancer and how immunotherapies are influencing the tumor-specific immune response.

Job description
Immunotherapy is a cancer treatment type in which the patient’s immune system is stimulated to kill cancer cells. T cells play a large role in immunotherapy. In our laboratory we try to understand how T cells behave around different types of cancer and how different cancer treatments (e.g. immunotherapies, chemotherapies) affect these T cells. This knowledge can then be used to understand why patients sometimes not respond to immunotherapy and what treatment (combinations) would be best for them.

As a technician in our small group you will work on characterization of T cells using techniques such as cell culturing, flow cytometry, and functional analysis of immune cells. We often use patient materials in our research, making it a necessity that you can work in a focused manner with respect for the patient material. In addition to driving your own research project you are also expected to participate in shared projects. We are frequently doing experiments which need more than one set of hands due to large sample sets, large sets or reagents or both and we usually do these as a team

Your profile

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic technician. If you meet the following requirements and are interested in this position we would like to invite you to apply.

  • You have a bachelor or master degree in biology, biomedical sciences or biochemistry (HLO or University level)

  • You like to work independently
  • You have a flexible attitude
  • You have good communicative skills
  • You are proficient in English
  • Experience with cell culture and flow cytometry is advantageous

Your career opportunities and terms of employment

The gross salary per month will be from € 2.144,- to € 3.072,- according to the FWG-function group 45, depending on education and previous experience.
