Your function within the department
I am looking for a postdoc in the Voest lab. My research group is devoted to better understand the interaction between immune cells and tumors and translating these novel mechanistic insights to improve treatment of cancer patients (see: Voest Group NKI). The current focus of research is on how tumor cells employ immune-evasion to survive. This is done both through a sophisticated model of autologous interaction between tumor organoids and immune cells and through large scale bioinformatics approaches. In the past years we shown this to be very successful also when we combine basic research efforts with translational clinical studies. Focus of your project will be to create a better understanding of immune-evasion and design strategies to overcome resistance by using our autologous organoid-immune cell models.
I am looking for a postdoctoral fellow with a background in immunology and interested in immune resistance. You will have a senior position within my research group and also work closely together with the other esteemed research groups located within the department of Molecular Oncology and Immunology (Schumacher, Haanen, Blank, Kvistborg, Thommen and Peeper) at the NKI. There is significant room for your ideas and creativity and personal development.
Your career opportunities and terms of employment
You will join an enthusiastic, dynamic, international research team with a great collaborative spirit. You will be part of an ambitious institute and exposed to many international leaders in the field. Your temporary employment will be for a period of two to four years. Salary of a Postdoc position would range from € 3.490 to €3.917. The terms of employment will be in accordance with the CAO Ziekenhuizen (Collective Labour Agreement for Hospitals).
