Your function within the department
You will become part of an enthusiastic team of very dedicated clinicians and researchers. We are embedded in a stimulating department with a mix of fundamental and clinical scientists in an institute with excellent supporting facilities. Our group focuses on improving breast cancer treatment and translating basic research findings to the clinic. The ultimate goal is precision medicine: The right therapy for the right patient, thereby reducing unwanted side effects and improving outcome.
Your tasks will be:
- supervising PhD-students interpreting the analyses of multicenter (randomized) biomarker trials, and publishing the results;
- writing new grant applications. Additionally, setting up own projects and pursuing interesting findings will be appreciated.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoc with a background in either medicine, medical sciences, molecular biology, biostatistics or related fields. The candidate should have a great interest in translational research, focusing on the development of diagnostic tests. Experience with high-throughput data analysis in biology and knowledge of basic (cancer) biology, coordinating clinical trials and/ or statistics is appreciated. The ideal candidate is proficient in R or SPSS. Excellent communication skills, team spirit and a capacity to work independently are essential. All data analyses will be intensively discussed with co-investigators including clinicians. Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

The Postdoc will be employed by the research group of Prof. Sabine Linn. The initial appointment will be for 1 year, with the intention to extend to 4 years in total. The gross salary per month will range from € 3.375,- to € 4.111,- according to FWG-function group 55 and depends on previous experience. The terms of employment will be in accordance with the CAO Ziekenhuizen (Collective Labour Agreement for Hospitals).
