The Dutch have the most faith in the Netherlands Cancer Institute

Antoni Van Leeuwenhoek Voorgevel

The Netherlands Cancer Institute has the strongest image of all of the Dutch hospitals. Our institute surpasses, according to studies, the eight Dutch academic hospitals. The Erasmus MC-Sophia has the best name among the children's hospitals. This is evidenced by the fifth edition of the Hospitals Brand Research by Hendrik Beerda Brand Consultancy, in collaboration with the University of Amsterdam, among 4245 respondents.

The top 10 of strongest hospital brands are dominated by the eight academic hospitals in the Netherlands. However, for the first time, this ranking is led by our own Netherlands Cancer Institute. "We are very pleased with the confidence the Dutch put in us," says Emile Voest of the Board of Directors. "And I am very proud of our in-house staff who are the basis for this recognition. They all contribute to this trust that patients and visitors have in us. Thank you very much for that! " The top 20 looks like this:

1)    Netherlands Cancer Institute

2)   Erasmus Medical Center (MC)

3)   UMC Utrecht

4)   AMC (Amsterdam Medical Center)

5)   Radboudumc (Radboud University Medical Center)

6)   VUmc (Free university Medical Center)

7)   UMCG (University Medical Center Groningen)

8)   LUMC (Leiden University Medical Center)

9)   Maastricht UMC+

10) Het Oogziekenhuis Rotterdam (Eye Hospital)

11) MC Slotervaart

12) Martini Hospital

13) OLVG (City Hospital of Greater Amsterdam)

14) Máxima Medisch Centrum

15) Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis

16) Isala

17) Sint Maartenskliniek

18) St. Antonius

19) Rijnstate

20) Havenziekenhuis Rotterdam

The Hospital Branding Research was developed together with the University of Amsterdam. For the 2017 survey, 4,245 respondents were questioned. Each hospital has been surveyed on 38 factors: Brand strength (= fame, rating and bonding), brand identity (16 factors), brand performance (16 factors), visits/visitors (as a patient or visitor of a patient) and growth expectation. Per hospital, sufficient respondents were questioned to be able to make reliable statements at the national and provincial levels and for the care area of the hospital.
