DNA map of metastasised cancer provides opportunities for treatment

24-10-2019

Dutch researchers, including three oncologists at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, have been the first to map the landscape of DNA errors in thousands of metastasised tumours. The study was published on Wednesday 23 October in the leading scientific journal Nature. It also gave rise to the DRUP study in 2016.

Oncologists Emile Voest, Neeltje Steeghs and Egbert Smit of the Netherlands Cancer Institute co-authored the Nature study, which was led by geneticist Edwin Cuppen of the Hartwig Medical Foundation and UMC Utrecht.
