After graduating as a medical doctor and working as a medical resident not in training at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, I started as a PhD student in the group of Emile Voest in November 2019.
My main project is coordinating the nationwide Drug-Rediscovery trial (DRUP), in which patients are treated with targeted or immunotherapy, matched to their molecular tumor profile. We hereby aim to facilitate patient access to potentially effective treatments, whilst creating a national platform in which targeted drugs and accompanying biomarkers can be tested across various tumor types. I am also involved in the development of a nationwide protocol to expand patient access to unauthorized targeted anti-cancer therapies.
