Koen Baas

In 2023 I joined the group of Uulke van der Heide as clinical scientist MRI Physics. My work focuses on the development and validation of MRI techniques that are used in MRI-guided radiotherapy. Specifically, I work on the application of the MRI-linear accelerator (MR-Linac) to moving targets such as tumors in the abdomen and the lungs. The MR-Linac's capability to image tumors and organs, and to adjust the radiotherapy plan based on the observed motion makes it highly suitable for targeting moving structures.
