Ph.D. Student

In June 2017 I graduated from medical school at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. I did my last internship at the surgery department in the NKI-AvL and was happy to get the opportunity to proceed my research after I finished university. Now, while performing a Ph.D. at the Surgical Oncology department, my medical doctor background gives me the possibility to look from a different perspective on ongoing projects in the group. In my research, I focus on the testing and implementing of hyperspectral imaging in treatment of patients with colorectal cancer. Besides that, I'm working on multiple clinical studies to optimize treatment in patients with colorectal cancer with liver metastases. These projects give me the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team, which I enjoy a lot.
