Experience

As a PhD student, with a background in Clinical Psychology, I am performing a randomized, controlled, multicenter study of an internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy program for sexuality and intimacy problems in women with breast cancer. Research shows that approximately 50% of breast cancer survivors report some form of sexual dysfunction as a result of treatment. Many of these women consider face-to-face therapy for sexuality problems to be confronting. When proven to be effective, this internet-based therapy will be a welcome addition to the care offered to these women, with the aim of improving the quality of life after breast cancer.
