Pim van der Helm MSc

Ph.D. student

After receiving my BSc in biology from Leiden University I wanted to specialize in the field of oncology. Therefore I started my MSc Oncology at the VU Amsterdam, with internships at the NKI and the Whitehead Institute of MIT. In February 2020 I started as a PhD student in the group of Emile Voest.

My project will focus on identifying mechanisms of resistance against targeted therapies, both in tumor cells and other cells within the tumor microenvironment and using this information to get to personalized combinatorial targeted treatments.
