Ellenbroek, Saskia

Saskia Ellenbroek

Senior postdoctoral fellow

I obtained my PhD degree in the group of John Collard at the cell biology department of
the NKI. During my PhD training I studied the function of Rho-GTPases and their
regulators in polarization processes and cancer. As a postdoc at the Hubrecht
Institute I used intravital microscopy and genetic models to study stem
cell competition in the small intestine. At the NKI I will use my VENI grant and
apply these unique and powerful techniques to continue this research. My main
focus is on the competition between colorectal stem cells during homeostasis
and tumor initiation.
