how to reach

  • by air: The Netherlands Cancer Institute is located close to Schiphol Airport. From the airport take a taxi or take a train in the direction Amsterdam Central Station (see below).
  • by car: take exit 1 Sloten (S109) on the A4/E19 and turn left when coming from the direction Schiphol, The Hague, Leiden, or turn right when coming from the direction Utrecht, Amersfoort. Cross the round about and follow the street (Anderlechtlaan) until the end and turn right. Follow this street (Laan van Vlaanderen) until you reach a crossing in front of a tram crossing, turn right and follow this street (Antwerpenbaan-Louwesweg) until you see a large sign on your left announcing the Institute.
  • by train: leave at Central Station Amsterdam and take tram 2 to the Institute or leave at Station Lelylaan and walk to the Institute (15 minutes walk). Leave the station and walk in the direction of the bus stops. Follow this path until you reach the Pieter Calandlaan. Follow this street until the traffic lights and turn left. Follow this street (Johan Huizingalaan) until you reach the next crossing with traffic lights. The Institute is on the opposite corner.
  • by tram: take tram 2 and leave at the stop Johan Huizingalaan. The Institute is in front of the tram stop. From Central Station it takes 45 minutes to reach the Institute.
  • by bus: bus lines 18, 19, 162 and 195 stop in front of the Institute.
  • by metro: take metro 50 and leave at the stop Heemstedestraat. Exit the metrostation and turn right. Follow the streeet till the next corner with trafficlights. The Institute is located at the opposite corner.
