Research interest
The main interest is to look at the structures of multi-component complexes between proteins, RNA and DNA and understand the function of complex 'macromolecular machines' at the structural level. Read more on our website.

Biographic sketch
Anastassis (Tassos) Perrakis did his doctoral research at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) Hamburg outstation in the laboratory of Keith Wilson. He received his PhD from the University of York in 1996. He then joined the laboratory of Titia K. Sixma at the NKI as an EMBO post-doctoral fellow. At 1998 he was appointed as staff scientist at the EMBL-Grenoble outstation in the group of Stephen Cusack. In 2000 he joined the Netherlands Cancer Institute as an AvL fellow. His interests are shared between developing methodologies for high throughput structural studies by X-ray crystallography and performing function-structure studies in macromolecular complexes relevant to human health and cancer.
