Basic and translational research should ultimately lead to improved cancer therapies and better diagnostics and this can only be achieved through carefully conducted clinical research. Many clinicians of the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital are involved in clinical research. The clinical research is organized in line with the 4 major clinical activities of a cancer hospital: internal medicine, surgery, radiotherapy, and diagnostics. The activities of each of these clinical divisions are highlighted below.
